The Oxford
The closed-lacing Oxford, rendered in full-grain Italian calfskin and finished by hand to a quiet, lived-in lustre. A silhouette that has dressed boardrooms and ballrooms for the better part of a century, ours is built on a Goodyear welt so that the shoe may be resoled for decades rather than replaced — the difference between owning a pair of shoes and keeping them.
The leather is vegetable-tanned in small batches and burnished slowly over open flame, developing a patina that becomes yours alone. A leather sole, a beveled waist and the most discreet of broguing speak in a register meant to be noticed only by those who know to look. Each pair is cushioned with a full calf-leather insole and lined throughout in soft, breathable kidskin.
Wear them with a grey flannel suit, with raw denim on a Sunday, with everything in between. Cared for with a horsehair brush and the occasional cream, they will outlast every trend they quietly ignore. Some objects are bought once and kept for good; this is one of them.
